The Mile High Horror Film Festival will be making a huge announcement about its 2012 festival this coming Friday, February 24th 2012 before the Denver Film Society and Mile High Sci-Fi's presentation of "Romancing the Stone."

The film that won Best Feature Film at the 2011 Mile High Horror Film Festival is set to make its return to the Mile High City this coming Saturday, February 25th!

The festival will be held October 5-7 at the Denver 
FilmCenter/Colfax.

Our 2011 festival was once again a huge success! We would like to thank all of our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, filmmakers, musicians, celebrities, and most importantly, our fans for making this festival an incredible experience for all. 

This year we featured over 30 films from 11 different countries holding true to our mission to showcase the very best independent horror films from around the world.

The Mile High Horror Film Festival is proud to announce the inclusion of Chillerama in this year's feature film lineup. This will be the Colorado debut for a film that is quickly building buzz following its world premiere last week in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in front of a crowd of over 3,000 people.

The writer and creator of "Final Destination," Mr. Jeffrey Reddick will be in attendance and judging our Feature Film category at this year's Mile High Horror Film Festival!

Jeffrey Reddick got his start in the film industry by interning at New Line Cinema when he was 19. He worked at the studio for over 11 years. But Reddick shot to horror film fame with the creation of "Final Destination." New Line Cinema released the original "Final Destination" in 2000 and the movie earned over $100 Million at the worldwide box office. "Final Destination 2" was released in 2003. Jeffrey co-wrote the story and served as an Executive Producer on the sequel, which also crossed the $100 million mark worldwide. With the fifth "Final Destination" being released in August of 2011, Reddick has cemented his status as one of the few screenwriters in the business to create an enduring horror franchise.

The Mile High Horror Film Festival strives to play the absolute best of the independent horror genre in any given year.  Given recent announcements about film selections, this year promises to showcase the best ideas by the best producers and directors in the industry.

While Freddy Krueger may have hordes of fans across the world wrapped around his bladed finger the truth can't be denied that this cinematic boogeyman was felled three times by the spunky and charismatic final girl Nancy Thompson, played with great heart and soul by actress Heather Langenkamp.

The Mile High Horror Film Festival will host its first ever music showcase on Friday, October 7th, 2011! The festivities will begin at 7:30pm at Bar Bar (Carioca Cafe) in Denver. 

The bands include The Flumps, In The Whale, The Kevin Costner Suicide Pact, Pythian Whispers and Marty Lindsey.
