Our 2011 festival was once again a huge success! We would like to thank all of our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, filmmakers, musicians, celebrities, and most importantly, our fans for making this festival an incredible experience for all. 

This year we featured over 30 films from 11 different countries holding true to our mission to showcase the very best independent horror films from around the world.

The Mile High Horror Film Festival will be announcing a few new celebrities in the coming weeks.

We have some big surprises in store that we are definitely excited about!

We are also honored to have the director of The Blair Witch Project, Mr. Dan Myrick return as a celebrity judge for our feature film category.

Actress/model Scarlet Salem, 93.3 FM radio DJ Bailey, and Michael Lerner who played Michael Myers in Halloween 6 will also be judging our short films. 

While the inaugural year of the Mile High Horror Film Festival boasted filmmaker Dan Myrick (The Director of The Blair Witch Project), Scarlet Salem (actress/model), and Bailey from Denver’s 93.3 as celebrity judges and showcased award-winning horror films from around the world, the true success of the festival had much more to do with a pass-holder’s comment that for her, film had “never been so intimate or alive as it was in the presence of those who had given it life.”  Truly, the greatest success of this festival had to do with the presence of the filmmakers who were able to answer questions and hear comments in the intimate venue at the Starz Film Center.  Somehow, art becomes a very different thing in the presence of the artist.  This is a characteristic unique...
